To deal with this, the 802.11 spec includes 11 channels that you can tune your router to so it has a clear channel and doesn't get stepped on by others in the area. Most manufacturers usse channel 6 as the default, so chances are that everyone around you is there. Go into your setup on the router and look the the dropdown menu for the channel. Change it to 1 or 11. It has nothing to do with the OS or antivirus. You are suffering from a saturation of wireless signals in your neighborhood.
