What is the name of that cable that runs from router to another PC to share internet connection?
The gist:
Two computers at my home. I have a router (not wireless) the cable that runs from that router to MY computer is too short and doesn’t reach to the back of my PC. I need a longer cable in other words but I need to know the name….Can anybody help ?
Ethernet or Cat5, they are the same cable, just referred to by didnt names. Look on Ebay, they have the cheapest. In stores definitely cost alot more, especially for the longer cables.
You want an ethernet cable, they sell them at walmart.
Cat5
LAN cable or Ethernet Cable. Looks like a phone cord but the connection is slightly wider.
cat 5 cable
Every where I have seen them they were labeled Network cable.
There are various grades, so make sure you get the best.
Ethernet (or) LAN cable and the connector is a bit wider than your normal RJ45 connector of the phone line. It is available at your local PC World store (or) and decent electronics shop.
Either Ethernet or USB…depending on how you set it up. Ethernet is genereally better and faster.
Go to the store and buy a CAT5 network cable. It has plugins on it the size of a double wide phone jack….easy to spot. You can buy them in 3, 6, 12, 15, and 30 foot lengths usually
It is an Ethernet Cable (CAT5). Specify that you want a patch cable.
It is just another normal Cat 5 cable, in actuality the same type of cable you have, just longer.
Just ask for an Ethernet cable. Cat 5 is the category of the cable, cat 5 or cat5e should be enough. The connectors at the end are called RJ45.
Cat 5 Ethernet Cable.
