Can I use HDLC WAN Encapsulation, and have a Cisco Router on one end and a Juniper at the other end?

Can I use HDLC WAN Encapsulation, and have a Cisco Router on one end and a Juniper at the other end?

Like for example saying Cisco on Texas Network and Juniper on Alabama's Network? and HDLC for Encapsulation?

    HDLC was always the proprietary standard back in the day, however if you tweak timers, etc. you could occasionally get it to work. Make sure both manufacturers will support such a circuit though, so you do not get into a finger pointing scenario.
