cisco router loop-back address?

im doing a lab in HS about a cisco router but i cant seem to ping the wic/serial on either of the 2 ports so i was thinking maybe it was an internal hardware problem, so i was wondering the routers loopback address for it (a normal pc nic’s loopback is 127.0.0.1, but that didnt work) if its not that please throw in some other ideas….much apreciated

The loopback address on a Cisco router, is determined by whoever configures the router, there is no preassigned loopback address. I am not sure where your ping is orginating from, but you should (if you can) log into the router and make sure the configuration is correct, the serial interfaces are up/up, and check to make sure there are no access lists on the router that would block the orginating IP address of you ping or the ping command itself.
