Answer by jman466 The router itself will NOT generate an email – it can however generate an SNMP Trap and send it to your Network Management Station for alerting/paging, etc. It can also send a syslog message if you have a parser for such messages (hopefully you do).

Question by TechWriter: Which IT Certification blends well with a Training & Development resume?
I want to add an IT certification to my resume. However, I don’t want to slave over material that won’t help me in my work or in the job market.
I don’t want to get a meaningless certification (like the new online college degrees) or train in something that is obsolete. I have the MSOffice, PowerPoint, Project and Access training. I am starting SixSigma and PeopleSoft/SAP HR training, but want to set myself apart as decidedly technical in order to get an edge. (I actually am technical, and love conducting or writing training on tech topics).
Not sure which cert will capture an employer’s attention: CompTIA has a host of certs, MS/Cisco/Oracle have certs…then, there is Data Security and some others I see that I worry that I should be considering.
What is getting hotter and would need to be trained to many employees so I can learn it and get contract work training others?

Question by Corianne A: my new wireless belkin router wont let me connect to the internet or use xbox live?
i bought a belkin wireless g router to use with my sons xbox live. it will not let me go on the internet at all when it is hooked up. I have to disconnect the router to get back online. how can i use the router for my sons xbox live ( to actually work) and go online at the same time? thanks for any help.

Question by quantum2012: Nuclear Physics, Electron Microscopy or Cisco Networking?
Hi, I have a question for you guys, because I believe that the advice of some people can help me to get the right way. My target is Nuclear Physics, but, I wish to get a hands on training career first (2 years only) and, after that, to continue mi education to be a Physicist. The careers that I am talking are the Electron Microscopy Program and Cisco Networking Program, I need to get advice of people working in both areas if is possible, because, in the future, I need to work at night in one of them to attend classes in the day time in the Physics Program in a University. What do I need to know is in what of them I have more alternative to work at night, because if it’s hard to find a job in the night time in one of them, I will enroll on the another one. Answer by franz_himself You certainly have better chances of getting jobs at strange hours if you have the Networking skills. Of course it gives you less of a background useful for Nuclear Physics…but that’s called Murphy’s Law. Good luck.
